Oct. 1987~ Scientific Research
Lee Shifu was invited by the National Science Council to participate in a series of qigong experiments. The results of these experiments have received international recognition. Lee Shifu’s contribution to the scientific research has since become a legend.
 

Apr. 1989~ Establishment of Meimen
Meimen Qigong and Culture Center was founded in this year. Different qigong courses are provided in the center to help all kinds of people to gain better health and higher spiritual strength.

Jan. 1990~ Qigong Education
Lee Shifu was invited to teach yangshengshu (methods of nourishing the vital principle) at places such as private companies, government offices, various organizations, as well as on television. He has also published several books on Chinese yangshengshu and Chinese gongfu. His reputation has grown steadily over the years.

Feb. 2000~ Helping the Disabled
Meimen was invited by the Taipei Association of the Physically Disabled to teach qigong to people who were wheelchair-bound. This was a pioneer project and the result was satisfactory to all involved.

Jan. 2002~ Drama Performance
Lee Shifu founded the Meimen Gongfu Art House in January 2002 to promote Chinese culture. The Art House has since staged drama performances regularly (Sep. 2002/Aug. 2003/Aug. 2004). Directed by Lee Shifu, these shows combine drama and martial arts in an innovative fashion. They are highly praised by the media and the critics and are extremely popular with the audience.
Mar. 2002~ Helping the Visually Impaired
Meimen was invited by the Department of Labor of Taipei City Government to help the visually impaired people. Lee Shifu combined qigong with massage techniques to help them minimize occupational injuries and to improve their massage skills as well. The never-heard-of qigong practice produced astonishing results.

Oct. 2002 Film Production
Meimen was invited by the Government Information Office, R.O.C. to participate in the production of a documentary film on Tai-Chi. The film later received a gold medal at the Houston International Film Festival.

Nov. 2002~ International Activities
Lee Shifu was invited to act as a judge in the International Wushu Tournament in Penang, Malaysia. During the same event, Meimen students also won three gold medals. After the tournament, Lee Shifu toured Kuala Lumpur and Malacca to give a series of lectures. The lectures were extremely successful and had a profoundly moving effect on the audience.

De. 2002-Feb. 2003 Public Welfare
Meimen held three major non-profit activities throughout the country. In each one, Lee Shifu lectured on yangshengshuh, and taught some fundamental qigong exercises to the public. More than twenty thousands people attended the event.

Jan. 2003~ Helping the Detainees in Prisons
Meimen was invited by the Taoyuan Juvenile Reform School, the Taichung Women’s Prison, the Taichung Men’s Prison, and the Illegal Immigrant Detention House to help their detainees. Lee Shifu specially designed several short-term courses to help these people maintain a body/mind balance in confinement.

July 2003~ Children’s Holistic Education
Meimen started a summer camp program for children to learn more about Chinese culture, art, and gongfu. The program is popular with children as well as parents.

Aug. 2003~ International Program for Foreigners
Meimen set up an international program for foreign visitors interested in Chinese culture, martial arts, and qigong. Meimen has since successfully received several groups of foreign journalists from Germany, Japan, South America, Spain, and USA.

Sep. 2003 International Peace Advocacy
Meimen joined the “Global Cooperation Society” to promote goodwill, cooperation, and service among all human societies. Its ultimate mission is to realize universal harmony and world peace.

Nov. 2003 Cultural Preservation & Development
Meimen participated in the annual convention of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society in Beijing. Lee Shifu’s idea of “peace through culture” received high regards from all attendees.

Dec. 2003-Apr. 2004 Community Service
Mei-Mein was put in charge of the Taipei Community Development Association and launched a series of non-profit activities to advocate the concept of “Health for All”. More than thirty thousands people showed up to learn the basic qigong exercise taught in these activities.
